Discover Singapore's First Presidential Pop-up Library

Singapore is currently hosting a unique literary initiative: the nation's first-ever Presidential Pop-up Library. This special showcase, launched in collaboration with the National Library Board (NLB) as part of its 30th-anniversary celebrations, offers a captivating journey into the world of books and the legacy of Singapore's leaders.

A Curated Collection and Presidential Insights

Step into an immersive space featuring over 60 specially curated titles. Visitors will find personal book recommendations from Singapore's current and former Presidents, including President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Dr Tony Tan, and Madam Halimah Yacob. Beyond these personal selections, the collection also includes books inspired by the tenures and contributions of all nine Singapore Presidents, offering a diverse literary perspective on the nation's leadership.

Engage and Explore

The pop-up library is designed to be an interactive experience for visitors of all ages. Explore an "Istana-inspired" display that provides a unique glimpse into the official residence. Throughout the space, interactive exhibits feature profound quotes and fascinating oral histories, providing deeper context and connection to the Presidential narratives. For those who enjoy a challenge, a special quiz awaits, offering participants the chance to win a book from the featured collection.

This innovative pop-up is a key highlight of READ30, a city-wide reading festival dedicated to bringing stories and the joy of reading into everyday spaces across Singapore. It perfectly embodies the spirit of making literature accessible and engaging for everyone.
