MUKAI Opens First Singapore Store at Plaza Singapura B1-07 With Tokyo-Style Seafood Donburi
MUKAI, the Tokyo seafood donburi specialist, has opened its first store in Singapore at Plaza Singapura, B1-07. The restaurant layers fresh sashimi, ikura, uni and other seafood over rice for bowls that have earned it a following in Japan.
Seafood Bowls From Tokyo
The menu centres on seafood rice bowls built around raw tuna served sashimi-style. Bowls come garnished with tobiko, nori and wasabi, with pickled ginger served on the side. A signature presentation sees a bright egg yolk poured over the centre of the bowl just before eating.
From Tokyo to Singapore
MUKAI traces its roots to Tokyo, where the brand built its reputation on towering seafood bowls piled high with roe-topped sashimi. The Plaza Singapura outlet brings the same shokudo-style format to Singapore, with bowls presented in ceramic dishes against the brand's signature blue-tiled counter.
Signature Donburi
Among the offerings are bowls of seasoned tuna topped with roe and nori, alongside slices of fresh sashimi. Each bowl is assembled over rice, making for a filling single-dish meal in the donburi tradition.
Premium Toppings
For diners seeking something more indulgent, MUKAI tops its bowls with premium ingredients such as ikura and uni. Bowls are finished with cucumber, sesame seeds, nori and a runny egg yolk, served with pickled ginger and seaweed on the side.
MUKAI is located at B1-07, Plaza Singapura.
